Cold Steel 39FNSZ Double Agent II, Serrated Edge Blade - A Review

Cold Steel 39FNSZ Double Agent II, Serrated Edge Blade knife was designed by Zach Whitson. This knife has a clip point blade style. The Double Agent II is thin, flat and super light with a little over 3 ounces including sheath.

It is easy to conceal and very comfortable to wear. The most noticeable feature is the double ring handle design. Slip an index finger through the front ring nearest the blade and your pinky finger through the rear ring and close your fist to obtain a forward grip and vice versa for a reverse grip. The twin rings will always prevent your hand from sliding forward on the razor sharp edge

The sheath is made out of hard plastic and friction fit over the knife for a secure carry. As added safety, a large circular tab locks into the front ring nearest the blade (see the picture above). To disengage and pull the knife out, depress the circular tab (it is textured) first. Below is the reverse view and you can see how the circular tab locks into place by using a combination of flat spring (part of the sheath) as well as its shape (domed).

Specifications:

Handle length: 4 7/8" with Grivory grip
Weight: 2.40 oz
Steel: Japanese AUS 8A stainless

KA-BAR 1481 TDI Law Enforcement Serrated Edge Knife - Non-intrusive & Concealable, A Review

The KA-BAR 1481 TDI Law Enforcement Serrated Edge Knife is an excellent knife as an EDC. Small and compact, the angled handle allows it to be used almost naturally without the need to bend your wrist.

Coupled with the hard plastic friction sheath with metal belt clip, the whole package is small and can be attached almost anywhere - non-intrusive & concealable.

The design comes also with a straight edge but I decided to go for the serrated edge model as I don't want the hassle of sharpening the knife. The purpose I wanted the knife is so that I can cut rope as well as go through cardboard (unboxing). Due to the shape of the handle, it would be difficult to use if you need to prep food.

I purchase the watch via Amazon for USD35.00.

Specifications

  • Textured Zytel handle
  • 5.63" overall length
  • Non-reflective black powder coated 2.31" AUS 8A stainless steel serrated blade
  • Hard plastic friction sheath with a metal belt clip
